1974年生於東京,Toshiaki Ishikura是一位文化人類學家,專門探討藝術人類學和比較神話學。在印度錫金、大吉嶺及尼泊爾加德滿都谷地實地考察後,他就日本、印度、尼泊爾及其他太平洋地區國家有關「山神女」的神話作出比較研究。他亦對非人類及藝術圖象(如本土制品、傳統物品、宗教遺物和當代藝術)進行生物文化的探究。
除了學術研究外,他與一些著名藝術家也有製作上的合作,當中有Masakatsu Takagi(視覺藝術家、音樂家、鋼琴家)、Masaru Tatsuki(攝影師)、 Tomoko Konoike(繪畫家)和Masashi Ifuji(木工藝術家)。2006至2011年間,他曾於多摩藝術大學—藝術人類研究所擔任研究員;現時則在秋田公立美術大學任職副教授,為「Arts and Roots」課程的教職員,其授課內容圍繞文化人類學及於日本東北部(Tohoku)的文化根源。
